Writing a book can be easy for some, but for others it feels like an endless struggle. Motivation seems like it comes and goes when it wants to, kind of like a rollercoaster. The drop comes quickly and it feels thrilling, but then there’s that slow passing time in between now and that next unexpectingContinue reading “10 Fun Ways to Fight Writer’s Block”

Ever since I become a bookstagrammer, I’ve learned a lot through experience and research. If there’s anything I could have changed about starting out on bookstagram, it would be having a list of book photography ideas to help me out with posting. At the beginning, I had no idea what I was doing. But afterContinue reading “30 Bookstagram Photo Ideas for Beginners”
My name is Day, and some of you may know me from Bookstagram as @dayshepard.writer posting bookish photography, bookish reels, book recommendations, my WIP (work-in-progress) book journeys, and so much more.
But cramming all that content on one social media platform was getting out of hand, especially since I am the only one working behind the scenes. So I decided to build this website to make posting more accessible, not just for me but for everyone.
What you can expect from this website is a little something for everyone. Like book recommendations by genre for readers. Character, worldbuilding story ideas for writers. And Instagram tips and tricks for bookstagrammers.
Not only will this website be about bookish information, but I will also fill this blog with information about diversity when it comes to books and book characters. I am a person who is mixed-raced, genderfluid and manages anxiety, so I know what it feels like to NOT be represented in books and what it feels like to be misrepresented in books. Sometimes mistakes are made when creating characters of color, conditions, or religion. And that’s why I made this blog. To help writers avoid making those mistakes and write a book everyone will love.
Throughout my journey of being a blogger, bookstagrammer, and artist, I have met so many outstanding and creative individuals who inspire me every day. And I hope with this blog, I can connect with more creative individuals and build lovely friendships.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and thank you to those who have supported me and have been around from the start. I wouldn’t be here without you!
Hope you enjoy your visit here. Have a great day!
